Future Perfect Tense
The Future Perfect Tense memiliki
dua kata pokok yang dapat diidentifikasi fungsi dan kegunaannya
berdasarkan nama tenses ini.
Kata-kata tersebut adalah future
yang berarti di masa yang akan datang dan perfect disini berarti (sudah)
sempurna terjadi. Jadi kita dapat menyimpulkan bahwa tenses ini menyatakan tindakan yang
sudah sempurna terjadi/dilakukan di masa depan. Dan si penutur dalam
kalimatnya menekankan pada terselesaikannya suatu kegiatan dan
akibatnya.
Formasi kalimat positif tersusun dari kata kerja bantu will atau shall setelah subyek, yang diikuti have dan kata kerja ketiga (past participle). Pembentukan kalimat negatif dangan menambahkan not setelah will atau shall (won’t / shan’t) dan interogatifnya dengan menempatkan kata kerja bantu tersebut di depan subyeknya.
Formasi kalimat positif tersusun dari kata kerja bantu will atau shall setelah subyek, yang diikuti have dan kata kerja ketiga (past participle). Pembentukan kalimat negatif dangan menambahkan not setelah will atau shall (won’t / shan’t) dan interogatifnya dengan menempatkan kata kerja bantu tersebut di depan subyeknya.
(+) S + will/shall + have + V3 + O/Adv.
(-) S + will/shall + not + have + V3 + O/Adv.
(?) Will/Shall + S + have + V3 + O/Adv.
Fungsi dan Contoh:
i. The Future Perfect Tense untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang
mungkin akan terus berlanjut hingga ke suatu titik waktu atau
periode waktu di masa depan.
- It is the year 1980. A couple married in 1970. In the year 2000 they will have been married (for) thirty years.
- A man is now setting out on a tour round the world. The journey will take nine or ten months. By this time next year I shall have crossed three oceans and (shall) have seen four or five continents.
- George has already been at the university for three years. He will take his degree examination ten months from now. By this time next year George will have taken his unifersity degree.
- I save $ 50 a month and I started in January. So by the end of the year I shall have saved $ 600.
- Bill ( melihat gudang di bawah tanah

Two years?
